Winning Ugly

The experts have spoken. The basketball gurus at CNNSI.com and ESPN.com overwhelming have LSU taking it to the ugly UCLA Bruins.

Here is my take. I have seen UCLA play at least 15 times this season. Probably 10 more times than anybody listed above. They are a very good team. A very well coached team. They have not played well offensively since the Belmont game in the first round and there they are, 2 wins from a National Championship. That to me is a feat since typically if you don't play well in the tourney you go home.

On the flip side LSU has played amazing basketball to reach the Final Four. To their credit they have turned up their game at the right time. They too are a good team.

I find it hard to believe that UCLA will play ANOTHER bad game offensively. If they play decent offensively the only game they played that MIGHT have been close was the Gonzaga game.

Seth Davis made a point that for UCLA to win they need their far superior guard combo of Farmar, Affalo and Collision to play well. They have been playing well defensively and have shown flashes offensively, but I think today is the day they put it together and have a complete game. They are too good not to.

I predict right here, on my blog that nobody reads, the Bruins are going to improve their FG% and their FT% and run away with this game.
